EQUINE VETERINARIAN/S POSITIONS AVAILBLE

EquiVets Victoria is seeking enthusiastic equine veterinarians to join our rapidly expanding practice in the heart of Victoria’s spa country. The positions’ are season, with emphasis on the breeding season, with an ongoing position potentially available for the right candidate.

We are looking for;

1.       Full time reproductive veterinarian

2.      Full or part time equine veterinarian, with flexible work arrangements.

  • ·         Little to no afterhours – (except minimal weekend work during the breeding season (1/3 rota))

EquiVets Victoria is an exclusively equine practise located in Musk (near Daylesford) in Central Victoria. The practice is located between Ballarat and Bendigo and is only an hour and a half to Melbourne. Daylesford is situated in Central Victoria, in the heart of Victoria’s spa country and is surrounded by natural springs, wellness retreats, cafés, well-renown restaurants, excellent wineries and an abundance of tourist attractions all within very close proximity to the clinic.

THE PRACTICE

EquiVets Victoria is a world-class ambulatory and clinic-based equine practice that services the local and surrounding areas. EquiVets Victoria has a wonderful and well-established client base and a well-renowned reputation.  The practice is dedicated to providing the highest quality equine veterinary services with a new purpose-built equine facility, allowing the provision of a superior level of diagnostic and treatment options, as well as post-surgical care and rehabilitation.

EquiVets Victoria sees a wide variety of equine patients from racehorses and competition horses, through to pleasure horses and pony club mounts.

The ideal candidate/s are enthusiastic, and self-motivated, with a willingness to learn and work with a fun, progressive team of professionals who practise high-quality veterinary work.

Experience in an equine only, or mixed practice with large animal focus, is highly desirable.  New graduates and overseas applicants are encouraged to apply.

THE POSITION/S

The Equine Veterinarian position requires a combination of excellent personal and professional technical, clinical and communication skills, together with a perceptive approach to business development from an equine veterinarian clinical perspective.

1.       Position 1 is for a full time reproductive veterinarian – with experience in live cover, chilled and frozen semen, difficult mares, mare management and embryo transfer.

2.       This position offers a diverse range of work including racetrack, reproduction, lameness, pre-purchase examinations, preventative care and minor surgery. An interest in reproduction would be a bonus, however the exciting part of being a part of a growing practice means there is plenty of scope to grow your own area of interest.

The positions includes a phone, laptop and all the diagnostic/veterinary equipment required, including a well-stocked vehicle (for personal and work use)

Little to no after hours (except minimal weekend work during the breeding season) supports a good work/life balance.

Remuneration is well above award and dependant on experience, plus car, phone, laptop, vet board and EVA registraion
